The Seal: A 30-Day Micro-Memoir Series — Start Here
Creative truth-telling, unsealing the silence, one story at a time.
On August 1, I began my most personal project since the publication of my memoir Never Make A Sound.
It’s called The Seal — a 30-day micro-memoir series unfolding in real time, day by day, here on Substack.
For the next month, I’ll be peeling back more layers of my story — through short lyrical essays, poetry, video reflections, and intimate dispatches from the edges of memory and healing. Some of these stories build on the foundations of my book. Others have lived in the shadows, until now.
This series is for anyone who:
has ever wanted to write their story but felt afraid to begin
wonders how to shape chaos or pain into narrative form
writes (or dreams of writing) memoir
believes in the power of story to heal what we hide
Some of these stories are deeply personal. Others explore the mechanics of memory and metaphor. But at its heart, The Seal is about writing as reclamation—of voice, of past, of self.
What you’ll get:
Free subscribers will receive one new post every day from August 1 to 30.
Paid subscribers will also get:
· Bonus posts with deeper layers and heightened vulnerability
· Behind-the-scenes videos from my writing desk
· Craft and process insights—how I create and revise, when I freeze, and what helps me push through
Save the date:
The series culminates in a special live online gathering on Saturday, August 31—an intimate space to reflect, write, and connect. More details soon.
